This page describes what is known about modeling surface objects (i.e., vehicles, ships, etc.) in Il-2. There has been no official modeling information released on this subject, so what is here has been gleaned from examination of sample models, and on what has been accepted and approved by 1C:Maddox for inclusion.

Here is a primer on building ships, courtesy of Fennec, builder of the Tirpitz. A copy of the Tirpitz .max file can be found in the 3rd-Party models folder included with this guide.

Buildings

To date, the author is unaware of any third-party buildings that have been submitted through normal 3rd-party channels for inclusion in Il-2: FB. He would welcome any information on modeling buildings, such as historical landmarks or common military installations like bunkers, etc.
